As crazy as it may seem, the entire batch of this coffee is only 3kg. This is not surprising given the reputation and masterful work of the Kotowa farm. Every detail is considered, every bean is sorted, every batch is unique.

We were lucky enough to buy this entire batch and divide it into 150g to share with as many coffee lovers as possible. Personally, this is the best Panamanian coffee I've tasted since I started my coffee journey.

The uniqueness of this coffee lies in its variety. Pacamaras are typically full-bodied coffees with an interesting texture and plenty of lively acidity. We often think of aromas of strawberries, cherries, or cocoa when we think of a pacamara. This batch is something else entirely: there's impressive clarity and a balance between clarity and sweet stone fruit. I'm really thinking of slightly tart peaches or nectarines. For a natural pacamara, this is amazing!

Honestly, this cafe reminds me of a Geisha, which is why it caught my attention so much. It's truly an extraordinary pacamara.

This coffee comes to us directly from Panama via FedEx, thanks to a valuable contact who helps us source exceptional coffees time after time. Cole of Forward Coffee has been active in the coffee industry for several years, as an importer, consultant, and even coach to champion baristas.

Cole even won the Canadian Barista Championship twice and placed in the World Barista Championship before becoming a coach and focusing on selecting the best batches in the world.

According to him, the best coffees in the world are currently found in Panama. That's why he settled there to relaunch his coffee scouting company, Forward Coffee.

In short, it is thanks to Cole's advice and his presence in Panama that we have the chance today to taste a batch from the Kotowa Rio Cristal farm, winner of several awards of excellence in Panama and recognized worldwide.

We had another batch of Kotowa (Duncan Farm) that ended up in our Club Lab, being a little bigger than this one. It was a great success and one of the best Club Lab editions in my opinion.
