An explosion of wild blueberry and dried plum, softened by a delicate floral aspect that lingers long after the last sip. The acidity is bright and juicy, the fruit vibrant, the cup remarkably deep. A natural coffee that is both wild and refined. Our favorite from the 2026 Guatemala harvest, which is starting to arrive in Canada.
The Farm
It is a pleasure for us to present for the second time a coffee from the legendary farm of Antonio and Juan Sebastian, two cousins who are driving specialty coffee in Guatemala.
We are honored to have this lot exclusively in Canada, freshly arrived from Guatemala by plane after the drying process was completed last June.
Finca Nueva Armenia is one of Central America's most legendary specialty coffee estates, nestled in the highlands of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Its roots trace back to the 1840s, when Don Teodosio Recinos acquired these lands. The first coffee plants were planted there as early as the 1850s. Certified organic (USDA & JAS) and Smithsonian Bird Friendly® since 2008, the farm continues a rare heritage five generations later.
The Producers
This lot is the work of two cousins from the fifth generation: Antonio Recinos Alvarado and Juan Sebastián Recinos. Antonio, a chemical engineer specializing in coffee, brings scientific rigor to every fermentation and drying decision, anchoring the farm's audacity in verifiable science. Together, they embody everything this fifth generation represents: a deep respect for origins, fearless innovation, and a desire to prove that Huehuetenango can compete with the best.
The Variety & Process
Typica is one of the oldest and most revered coffee varieties. Here, this heirloom Typica is processed naturally – the whole cherries are dried on raised beds at the highest altitudes of the farm (1,700 to 1,900 m). The result: a cup rated 88+ by the SCA and ranked 12th best natural in the regional competition – an achievement for a variety of this age and character.
In the Cup
Lightly roasted to preserve its full brilliance, this is a decidedly fruity and floral coffee with bright, juicy acidity. It performs best as a filter coffee, where its depth and clarity fully unfold. An exuberant natural, as rare as it is impressive.

Electric
Roasting
Most coffees are roasted over an open flame. At Nucleus, we choose the purity of electric. No stray smoke, no combustion aftertaste. Just the best coffee in its noblest, richest form.
Reduced carbon footprint
A much greener alternative to fossil-fuel systems (gas/propane).
Aromatic clarity
You taste only the producer's terroir, without the "smoky" or burnt taste often associated with gas roasters.
Surgical control
Electric heat is stable, predictable and agile, unlike gas, which fluctuates with pressure or temperature.
Consistent freshness
The technology lets us roast smaller quantities on demand with consistent quality.
